Hello fellow Gallery Members,
Today, I present to you my latest form of wasteland media, Wasteland Files! I’ll just put these out here and there to describe my wasteland faction, their goals, and their enemies. Thanks for reading!
Edit: Added ILC logo, removed misspelling underline under my generic farmers last name.

The mutagen released more than two years ago, as we all know, not only impacted humans, but animals, plants, and single-called organisms. While most mutations were neutral or unnoticeable, some adapted, others were weakened.
One such genetically weakened corn mutation causes the plant to grow at unsustainably high rates. The corn, which I will subsequently be calling Maize, appears to grow at a rate of 2-4 times as fast as typical corn. This, unfortunately, is where the unsustainable part comes in. The corn devours nutrients in the soil exponentially faster than it grows. It destroys fields in mere months, leaving them too infertile to even grow grass. As seen in the testimony of a failing farmer below, it is viewed as a danger, not a saving grace.
“The corn grew remarkably fast, so much that it wilted just after maturing, and could only serve as kindling while I harvested my other fields. It destroyed that field, nothing grows there, even weeds fail to sprout. If not for your coalition, I’d have never made it through the winter.” (Joseph Freesilver, November 12th, 2082)
I believe, however, that this corn will be our saving grace. Preliminary studies of the Maize are showing positive results that the soil’s nutrients can be replenished with immense amounts of fertilizer. No lone farmer could secure enough equipment to profitably grow Maize, however the Intelligent Life Coalition surely could. Together with funding from the Civilian Defense Taskforce, the ILC will be able to provide said equipment and fertilizer, enabling a few farmers to grow immense amounts of corn, which we can sell back to the CDT, the scrappers, or heck, even the United States Restoration Corp, themselves.
I am confident that Maize will enable the ILC to attract new members and become an economic power in our fallen world.
