Hey everyone, thought I would do something a little bit different today with a review of a brand new halo mega construx set.
The Halo Mega Construx Chopper Takedown set.
I love it!
I’ll start with the box… yes the box, I’m doing EVERYTHING.
I love the box art, it shows off the set perfectly. Honestly wish I knew what they used to make the box art cause I would use it so much to make stuff. The back gives all the information you need to decide wether you should buy the set or not.
One small random thing is the box itself, the packaging. I really like the way they made it, it’s like a pizza box. I was a little confused opening it at first but once I got it, it opened up to the bags of pieces and instructions perfectly.
Next is the actual set, build and characters.
The build quality snd figure quality is great. All pieces fit perfectly and luckily didn’t have any problems with the figure molds. The chopper build is amazing and looks just like it doesn’t in game which is what you want. It also has a pretty simple assembly, it actually surprised me how simple the the frame without details is. The clickity clackity of the wheels is so nice when you roll it around on a hard surface. You can’t forget about the turret though, it’s a nice turret. I wish it was the halo 3 style turret but having that playability is nice.
The figures are just as great as the build.
Escharum is Heroes quality, so is Fred. I was a bit worried that I would get bad hands with the figures but I didn’t and I’m happy that I have 2/4 blue team members. Can’t wait to get Kelly in the Razorback and hopefully Linda will be out soon with a set. I think I’m going to focus on escharum, the level of detail on this dude is insane. All his red markings on the armor is there, arms with the white and red, his chest plate with the blade like objects sticking out being silver, even the blond hair on his face! I do wish they at least painted the knives on Fred but he still looks great.
The weapons are basic weapons, no painted details but the molds are still great. The spartan laser is the same that we’ve seen with the spartan operator a few heroes series ago and the unsc infinity. The gravity hammer is the exact same that we’ve seen in all the infinite sets in a dark grey.
Onto the last stuff, and randomly it’s the bags…
There huge for what’s actually in them. I know they did that so it kept them from not sliding around in the box but it’s a lot of wasted material. That’s basically the only gripe I have on it but it’s not the actual set.
That’s it for the review, let me know if I missed anything and I’ll put it in.
One final note:
Tomorrow is the first day back in school, so I’m not going to be able to post as much as I do. If I do post as much as I do now they’ll be a lower quality of post. I’ll try my best to balance my hobbies and school, I had a really hard time last year.
Thanks for checking out my first and probably only review, and I hope you have a good day!
