Apologies for the camera quality. These are some of the first pictures I took after creating the ShlubCustoms account.
This was one of the first sets I bought when I decided to start collecting Mega again. I had quit collecting sometime around the Pyrates/Pirates of the Carribean era (some time in '06) and sold my sets. I started back when I grabbed a bought of Series 3 Blind Bags on a whim. I opened them up, and instantly was hooked by Mega again.
A few days later, I was in a different Wally World and decided to see if they also sold Halo blind bags and discovered that Mega also made Halo sets. They had a couple of sets and some Combat Units. They had the Arctic Combat Unit and the Silver Combat Unit. I bought the Silver one and decided to come back and buy the Arctic one later. When I came back, someone else had bought it and it took me until 2018 to track a new one down online.
I think that it's interesting to see how these figures have evolved over the years. They started off so simple, with unwieldy, bulky weapons. Now, they have somewhat properly scaled weapons and better articulation than most of my 1/12 Scale Mcfarlane Destiny and Titanfall figures.
What do you guys think about the Silver Combat Unit? What was your first set? Talk about it below.
