I took another look at my 2nd closest Walmart again today and saw a few things (pics 3, 4, and 5). Which was a much better selection than the last time I went this Walmart, so clearly this one at least still gets Mega Construx in (unlike my closest Walmart). Pictures 6, 7, and 8 are what I saw at Target (where I only bought a Spartan Carter -A259, primarily for the head, for a generic looking guy who may appear in a custom build later on). Pictures 1 and 2 are all that I did buy today, a few sets were from Shopko (Horseback Assault, Mikey, and Snowball Fight Minions).
I was hoping to find 4 Leo's to have a full set of the Turtles in that form, so I still need to be on the lookout for one. I got 2 Data's, but unfortunately both had some paint issues where the yellow meets the black on his torso. I hope to find an appropriate head sculpt to use to make Geordi La Forge with one of them. Grabbed 2 Fakers, one just to have, the other for custom parts. And I felt compelled to get another Xenomorph to give me a total of 3 (2 from series 1). Even though the Horseback Assault wasn't really on sale, I got it so I can make Commander Riker (I already had one, but figured why not get another).
Now on to something that's been eating at me: what's the deal with all the Pokemon? Seriously, are there that many people who love Pokemon out there? Maybe it came along too late for me to understand the appeal of them, but... ok maybe it draws some new fans in... but... why soooooo much of it? I don't mean to be hating on Pokemon, if you love it fine, but over 75% of Target's space was for Pokemon (Walmart had some, but just a few of the Pokeball things). Can someone please explain what the draw is about Pokemon? My guess is that most people must be like me, because it sure doesn't look like stores are selling many of them.
