Merry Christmas Spartans! I have a festive themed figure for Christmas!
Last month I decided to do a Christmas themed custom cause I missed a Halloween one and hadn’t done it before. No better figure to make than a mark VII peppermint laughter coating spartan, since #haloinfinite‘s birthday was only a few weeks ago. Luckily when I primed this figure my white didn’t cause anything funny to happen to it so all the detail was kept on the figure. Including the Firefall helmet (my favorite helmet) from @ls3d_printing. I wanted to do something a bit different for a mark VII and since I had 3 Firefall helmets, thought I might as well use one. I decided to approach this figure more like a traditional painting, basically not only painting only what was a certain color. So I didn’t have to try to paint a smooth white over another color. And I think that method helped with this figure. I even painted the undersuit for this guy, woulda looked odd without it and it was totally worth it. For some odd reason you can see the color of the plastic of the chest, despite having built up a solid white on it before varnishing. So idk what happened with that, kinda sad about that but it’s fine I guess. Special thanks to @gcustomscreations for tips on painting this guy!
Paints used:
-GW corax white (do not use this)
-GW mephiston red
-GW leadbelcher
-GW iron warriors
-GW sybarite green
-GW warpstone glow
-GW retributor armor
-GW averland sunset
-GW runefang steel
-V black
-GSW neptunus blue
Sprays used:
-GW corax white primer (get white scar)
-GW Munitorum varnish
Merry Christmas Spartans! Hope you guys have a good holiday with your family, and get lots of hobby stuff.
Stay tuned next time for another white figure…
