As per requested.
Carefully take off the I guess "head" of the elephant.
Pic 1 shows the bottom of that, the platforms may or may not come off, but the 2x16 piece the connects the platforms and the head can be removed. Pieces coming from that point to the front, you'll remove 4 1x8 stud and 2 1x2 stud. The 2x16 and 2 1x8 studs will be removed entirely.
Pic 2 shows what you'll do with 2 of the 1x8 studs, I put a 1x4 flat to support the middle. Pic 3 shows the platform put on and you'll not have to worry about that part anymore.
Pic 4 shows what'll be replacing the 4 1x8s and 2 1x2s. Now it's sort of user preference at this point I didnt have long flat pieces, the longer they are the better as you can see it on the side of the elephant. So I did my best. But basically I stacked 2 layers of flat pieces then topped it with the smooth flat pieces. Creating 2 1x4 smooth and 2 1x11 smooth flat pieces. You can do that anyway you want just have the 1x2 studs in the back somewhere so it attaches to the back as well.
In total there are 12 studs attached to the head when its on. I wouldn't try to go above that even with 12 it's on their pretty well.
