I did it! I made a steam account! Currently, I haven't actually bought anything so I can't really do anything else with it, except get Destiny 2! It is downloading as we speak on a computer that my dad actually built, and will take a while, but once I play through it, get some cool stuff and get Forsaken (seeing as the first two weren't on the list of DLC), I can also join in discussions and groups. Funny story: I actually tried looking for @Murple on there, but there were so many Murples that I didn't know who it was! Stay safe!
