No I'm not shutting up.
It's no secret that the Destiny MCX line has come to a close, but I cannot help but notice the effects the line still has on both Destiny fans, MCX fans, and collectors alike. So I've decided to make a list of reasons why the Destiny Mega Construx line is still relevant and should return.
#1: It's a set goldmine
The Destiny universe is very expansive and has literal THOUSANDS of characters, weapons, armor, enemies, locations, and more. The line shut down, but it was absolutely not due to creative strain. The amount of ideas and sets that could come from the Destiny universe would be able to keep the line going for at least a decade with the content Bungie has put out up to this point alone.
#2. The Destiny community is alive and well
With over One million consecutive players per day, Destiny as a game is on a roll, and getting more merch would only introduce more fans. The fact the bulk of Destiny 2 is now free makes it hugely accessible to casuals. The massive playerbase would definitely fuel the line as thousands upon thousands of people would buy them.
#3. The sets are still very successful and sought after
Look on Ebay or Amazon and type in "Destiny Mega Construx". Have you seen what some of the sets (especially the newer ones) are going for??? They are incredibly coveted and go for amazingly high price points as ridiculous as $50 for a sparrow. A SPARROW. Even sets with high price points are being snatched up on ebay in no time, which really speaks to how many people want them.
#4 No one asked for the line to end
Why did the line end in the first place? Legal trouble? Bungie Splitting from Activision? No one knows, and those who have asked have received vague and unconvincing answers. The fact is, no one dislikes the Destiny line, and even those who have distaste for the games still like the sets (lookin at you Survivor :)
#5 Why not?
The most basic reason the Destiny line should return is because of the sheer lack of evidence against it. I ask you to think of one valid, sound reason the Destiny line should have been cancelled. If you think of one, comment it below. Mega has yet to reveal their reasoning and I doubt they ever will :(
So in conclusion, the Destiny line was highly successful with lots of fans, almost endless creative potential, and a huge group who would be willing to welcome it back into the MCX family. So Mega, what do you say? Why not ring up Bungie and reignite the flame? Either way, I've said my piece.
AVG out :)
