After being saved from bushey UZ and Joe walked to another room.
“Welcome to your new home, user. Allow me to educate you in the operation of the ruins.”
He gestured to elevated stones on the floor.
“The ruins are full of puzzles. One must solve them to move from room to room.”
He walked over a sequence of stones and the door opened.
“Come.” He said as they walked through the door. The next room was long and had small streams of water running through it.
“To pass through this room you need to trigger several switches. Do not worry I have labelled the ones to need to flip. For your sake and mine.” He joked
UZ saw the first lever. It had big yellow arrows pointing to it. He flipped it and heard a click, he looked over but the spikes blocking the exit had not retracted. He looked over at two switches. The one on the left had similar yellow arrows, so he flipped it, he heard another click and the spikes retracted.
“Awesome! You did well!” He exclaimed. “Let’s move to the next room.”
The next room was empty except for a training dummy in the middle of the room.
“As someone from the internet here, users may attack you. You will need to be prepared for this situation. However the process is simple. When you encounter a user you will enter a fight. While you are in a fight strike up a friendly conversation. Go on practice talking to the dummy.”
UZ walked up the the dummy. It stood there looking like it was going to fall over. He tried talking to the dummy, I didn’t seem much for conversation. But Joe seemed happy.
“You did very well.” He said as he walked out of the room. They walked through the next room when a strange pickle attacked him. Joe started glaring at it and it shuffled away. They traveled to a room even longer than the first.
“You have done excellently so far. But I need you to walk to the end of the room yourself.” Joe said as he left. UZ tried to follow him but he was too fast for his little grunt legs. The room seemed to last forever. He walked and walked until he finally found the end. Joe stepped out from behind a pillar.
“Hey there friend. Don’t worry I didn’t leave you. I was behind the pillar the whole time. Thanks for trusting me. However I needed to test your independence. I have errands to run, stay here will you? There are several things I have yet to explain. Here take this cell phone. If you need me you can always call.”
UZ nodded as Joe departed. So, there he sat.
Music: ruins. Unnecessary tension
This was a little late sorry. I’m splitting the ruins into three parts I think I might do this for every area.
