“Uh oh...” Grub spun around. There were hallways in all directions. “Well I know we don’t go left. Our pen is left,” Flig said. Grub peered down one of the hallways. Down it he saw... well, more hallway. Down the other, there were crates, and a dead end. “Let go see what in these crates. If big monster in here, we not stop him with bush and stick.” The others nodded and ambled down the hall. On top of the crates were two small metal objects with buttons. Flig and Palf picked them up. “Wonder what these do?” Flig asked. He poked the the front of the object, and pushed the button a the same time. There was a loud crack and Flig jumped. “OW OW OW OW OW!!!” He dropped it and held his fingers. “That hurts!” Palf held his away from himself and pushed the button. What looked like lightning coursed between the metal prongs on the front. “Coooool...” Palf said.
They exited the hallway and entered the next. Different doors were closed and locked on the right. They were all marked. “Wolf... Parrot... Snake... Woah.” A door marked “Tiger” was barely hanging on its hinges, busted open by whatever was inside. “Uuuh, should be worried about that?” Tan asked. “Definitely.” Grub replied. The distant banging started up again, and they all jumped. “You think that the tiger?!” Flig asked shakily. “P-p-probably.” Grub replied. They huddled together and continued on. Each noise they heard was another “monster” waiting to attack. Grub was cautious, but tried to be brave. Palf was annoyed, but was also obviously scared. Flig was still massaging his hand. Tan was twitching he was so frightened. They stopped to rest in front of a door marked, “Food Storage.” Palf aired his new grievances, “Grub, you even know where we going?” Grub shook his head. “No. Me just going with gut.” Palf threw up his arms. “That ridiculous! You going with gut, instead of trying to find map?! We could die in here!” “Me doing the best I can!” Grub shot back. Flig stood in between them. “Just calm down. Fighting do nothing.”
Tan suddenly jumped up, “You hear that?” They stopped and listened. Shuffling came from the food storage room. “Uh... yes?” Flig replied nervously. The shuffling got closer to the door. They all prepared their various weapons. “I really hope we don’t die.” Grub said.
Apologies guys for
A. Being late, and
B. The ugly scenery here. It was this or just my garage floor.
