So there is a reason I am somewhat glad those MCX Alpha Base rumors are a hoax. If we had gotten an Alpha 9 set this year, it likely wouldn't have done the squad justice. I predicted it being a build based on the Hell's Waiting Room cutscene from H3 ODST. Complete with a hologram table with a nano build of New Mombasa and Regret's ship, a fully decked out armory, and the drop pod bay with a Drop Pod for each A9 member. While that would be sick af and you can use most of it for a base interior, how I feel is the best way to do that is a set that goes a little something like this....
A brand new Phantom with all of Alpha 9 and Virgil. This is why I am kinda glad we aren't getting an Alpha 9 set this year. Including them in a brand new Covenant Phantom with Virgil is the best way to go and Mega wouldn't release 2 variants of the same large vehicle in a single year. Lego doesn't even do that. Much like how Falcon Sweep was based on the intro cutscene for Halo Reach, this is based on the penultimate cutscene to Halo 3 ODST. (not counting the legendary one which we will get into soon) The Phantom itself would ideally be big af. Most likely not as big as Brickman 117's Banished Phantom but definitely much bigger than the og and the one we are getting as that one is only half as big in terms of price. This set I see as being 150 dollars much like the 2020 Pelican meanwhile, I am willing to be the new Phantom is like 80 dollars going off the Deep Discount price. All of Alpha 9 would have detailed paint apps and come with painted weapons much like the figs in Falcon Sweep as well as use the new ODST backpacks when appropriate. Buck will also have a Biofoam injector and maybe A9 could include extra helmetless heads as well. I also included Virgil since he is a highly requested character to be brought into MCX and a set like this is the PERFECT way to introduce him. But I know a lot of people don't really care about that and just want Engineers in general...
That's right! I came up with 2 ideas for this sort of set! This time, I am basing it off the legendary ending of the same game. I feel like this would please people who would (understandably) prefer to get Covenant with their Covenant vehicle. In addition to Prophet of Truth who now uses the 3 fingered hands, has a retooled torso and gold shoulder thing for greater accuracy, and comes with a brand new throne made out of specialized parts, you get 2 Engineers and 4 Brute Honor Guards. That might seem excessive to some but honestly, if we are ever gonna get Brute Honor Guards, they gotta go all out with their release much like how Mega did with the Shadow convoy. Besides, this is a pricey set anyway so might as get a little crazy with it. Mega made a note on the Falcon Sweep that you can put every single figure in the Falcon. The same can be done here. Have 2 Brute Honor Guards piloting the Phantom while the other 2 use the Plasma Cannons to protect the Prophet. While not shown here, the Brutes would come with Honor Guard staffs but you will get extra weapons for them that are stored around the Troop bay of the Phantom.
