Much like the Banshee that we showed last Throwback Thursday, a prototype Hornet was also created in 2008 for the very first Halo line. It went through a few different versions before it was released. This was the first prototype.
Notice the dry brush effect that was painted onto the green parts of the model. It uses the canopy from a previous year's Probuilder A10 plane. Also, the prototype includes a missile on the front gun. This was because all the 2009 sets were supposed to include projectile launchers. After some discussions, the team decided that feature was not necessary at the time.
