Going back to Throwback Thursday with COD Theme this time.
Showing off what was the 2014 SDCC exclusive figure, a golden Austronaut, from COD Ghosts (I'm not a very COD expert so I apologize if I made a mistake in something).
There is a bit of history about this figure (although I may be wrong about something) since it was not only in SDCC, this figure was also found in stores like Kmart, Walmart (I do not know if they got to other stores as well).
The store price was around almost $ 7.00 USA in those years. I did not get to buy one in those years because I had no interest in the COD line and it was expensive (in addition to the fact that the Halo line was what most attracted me and especially that super articulated figures arrived that year).
I had the strange luck that almost 6 years later I would have not only 1, but 3 of these figures in a Kmart that were closing (RIP the Kmart stores in my country). And the best thing was that they did not cost almost 8 dollars for one, they were cheaper than the Halo Blind bags !! ($ 1.00 USA). So I still managed to have something from the past.
And why were they so expensive? In addition to being something exclusive, I had a coupon in the instructions that you could have a discount when buying $ 20 or more in COD sets, a coupon that expired on December 31, 2014 (so even though I have 3 coupons now, I don't think they will be at all useful or important, but I still keep them).
In pic 3 is a comparison of this figure with the Golden Master Chief of the 10th Anniversary (2019) to show that they have certain differences in their colors.
So i hope you guys like this Throwback, have a good day or night and be safe at home.
