The second version of each picture have had their contrast and color cranked up to 11 to show details and the subtle camo.
As part of the giant battlescape project, I need to go through all of my figures and totes to decide what I want to display. While I was doing that, this custom Halo Sniper Rifle caught my eye. This rifle is one of my earliest experiments in adding real cloth ghille to a MCX scale figure. If I remember correctly, this custom was originally supposed to pair with my H3 Sniper Marine (who was originally going to be just as ghille covered as the McFarlane Reach Trooper beside him in pics 5 and six.
I decided to wanted to maintain at least SOME Green Army Man Syndrome with my custom H3 Marines, so I scrapped the idea. However, I had already made the rifle and I had nothing to use it with, so it wound up just sort of existing on my temporary COD display shelf.
When I found it today, I knew what I had to do with it. I had forgotten about the custom ghille sniper rifle when I made my Joint Task Force Sierra (JTFS) ghille sniper. I remembered her today when I found the rifle though.
My JTFS Designated Markswoman ODST figure can now have the sniper rifle she should have had all along.
By the way, @WhoThCares, the McFarlane figure is why I have never attempted to make a MCX figure with a full cloth ghille. That guy took me well over a week, if I remember correctly.
All of the ghille shown has been made with cloth medical gauze that I took several days to dye, paint, cut, glue, and weather.
