TMNT Christmas tree
For the first time ever, I decided to get a real Christmas tree, not a fake one, except this tree wasn't for me... it was for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Splinter. Their lair needed a tree, the lair hosted Thanksgiving two years in a row but never a Christmas. That was not going to happen this year.
Turns out that it's hard to find a real tree on scale with Mega Construx Turtles, so I clipped off 4 small branches from a tree outside (growing in a fence, so glad I didn't cut it down, just trimmed off some low branches that make it difficult to moe around late this summer). I took those 4 branches and used a silver twisty to hold them together. I used 3 TMNT figure stands (sewer plates) to hold the tree up, by placing the bottom of the tree through the center hole. Then I took fuzzy glittery tinsel sticks and wrapped them around the tree. One color for each turtle, but I had to use yellow for Mikey since I didn't have orange. I used a yellow Ninja star (shuriken) as the star atop the tree. And lastly I placed some random gifts around the tree.
I considered adding more tinsel around the lair, to finish the decorating, but decided that I didn't need it. For my pictures I took some with flash, some without. And I would say that without the flash helps the tree look greener, but you can see more details with the flash, that and with flash on, it almost looks like the tree has lights (reflection off of the tinsel).
What do you think of my real ninja turtle Christmas tree? Maybe your figures would want a real tree too? I'd love to see how they turn out if anyone chooses to make their own, or even a tree out of all mega construx pieces.
Merry Christmas everyone at the Mega Construx gallery!
