Professor Trevor Bruttenholm was always interested in the paranormal and the occult. During WW2 Professor Bruttenholm (pronounced Broom) worked in intelligence and eventually served as a paranormal adviser to President Roosevelt. During his time as a paranormal adviser Broom would work against the Nazi threat of using occult magic to turn the tide of the war. During one such mission in 1945, Broom would meet Hellboy, a demon summoned in hopes of bringing the end of the war. Seeing Hellboy as a little boy Broom took him and adopted him as a son, seeing the good in him. A year after the event that brought Hellboy to him Broom formed the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense or the B.P.R.D and served as its director for the next thirteen years.
After retiring from Director, Broom still helped the B.P.R.D as an adviser. However after missing and being found after a mission in 1992 Broom finally died.
Professor Bruttenholm is made from:
Head-Baxter Stockman painted with added facial hair
Body-Fox Mulder with the blue over with white
Bag-CoD WW2 British soldier bag
While this Professor Bruttenholm this figure is based more his movie appearance and the actor John Hurt as opposed to his comic iteration, mostly because I could not find a good head to match the comic look.
