The Children of Atriox.
As cunning as he is resourceful, Atriox ensured that he didn’t merely recruit warriors into the ranks of the Banished, but scientists and engineers as well. In the earliest days of the Banished, the most brilliant of these minds were set to work on a special project, a contingency for if the Banished someday had to cross blades with humanity and their formidable Spartans.
If they were to fight demons, they had to make demons of their own.
Atriox called for volunteers for the program, with many of his staunchest followers putting forward their children or kin, each recruit younger than ten earth years old. In the years that followed, the subjects underwent rigorous modification and training, from growth hormones and steroidal treatments to cybernetic enhancement and bioengineering. Those who survived the process emerged as gargantuan monsters, clad in nigh-impenetrable power armour with equally powerful energy shields, and jump packs capable of bearing their monstrous weight. Dubbed “the Children of Atriox”, these titanic warriors were equipped with experimental weaponry and sent into the field with only one purpose: to kill demons.
As these special troops have only been deployed in recent times, and rarely leave survivors, it’s unclear how many of them are in service, with estimates ranging from as few as six to as many as sixty. ONI intelligence has only collated dossiers on three of the “Children” so far.
Spatha – stated by captured Banished to be the most cunning of the group, Spatha is the team strategist, known for both her callousness towards her enemies, and her care for those under her command. Casualties are rare among those under her command, while opposing forces often take heavy losses.
Pilum – bearing a reputation as the most savage of the Children, it is believed Pilum suffered some kind of accident in his training, leaving him mute, with his helmet partially melted and fused to his face. Whether surgery has been deemed too risky, or Pilum has let the helmet remain in place by choice, is unclear. What is clear is that he is in constant, incredible pain, and vents his rage through brutal berserker attacks against the enemies of the Banished.
Falx – known also by his nickname “The Executioner”, Falx is the most fearsome of the Children, and generally regarded as their leader. He carries at all times a horrifying crimson axe, which he often uses to finish off his enemies, thus earning him his moniker. Falx collects trophies in the form of a piece of armour from each Spartan he has slain, a sight that serves to demoralise UNSC troops he encounters. Only eight known Spartan KIAs have been attributed to him by ONI, but he was seen wearing fifteen trophies at last count, suggesting that many Spartans currently listed as MIA may have fallen at his hand.

The idea for these customs came about the moment I saw the new Brute Warriors. Their armour colour was a perfect match for the Cabal figs from the Destiny line, so I got to work on these three. Spatha and Pilum were fairly straightforward pop-and-swaps, though I might add some more armour or something to them in future to make them more distinct. Falx took some more work, with parts from the World of Warcraft and even the old Dragons line being contributed to his creation. His head was a custom I commissioned from an online seller.
